🌿 Carthage FFA Hosts Wildlife Invitational! 🌿 What an incredible day for agricultural education at CHS! Our Carthage FFA chapter proudly hosted the Wildlife Invitational Contest, welcoming 125 students from 20 schools to compete in the Texas FFA Wildlife and Recreation CDE. 🦌🌾 From species identification and habitat evaluation to equipment knowledge, written exams, and team problem-solving, students put their wildlife management and conservation skills to the test—all while showing outstanding sportsmanship and teamwork. 👏 This invitational also served as a qualifier for the Region IV Wildlife Contest in November, and we couldn’t be prouder of every participant who made the day such a success. A huge thank-you to our incredible students, teachers, volunteers, and judges for their hard work in making this event possible. 🐝 Learning That Sticks: CHS Beekeeping Students Take CTE to the Field 🐝

At Carthage High School, Career & Technical Education means real-world learning beyond the classroom walls — and our Beekeeping students are living proof!

On October 16th, Mrs. Ashley Harris and her Beekeeping class visited the Texas A&M AgriLife Research Center in Overton, TX, where students gained hands-on experience working with honey bees. They examined common diseases and pests, practiced queen bee marking, conducted hive inspections, and even processed honey 🍯 — seeing agriculture and science come to life!

A heartfelt thank-you to Dr. Garrett Slater and Ms. Heather McBride for sharing their expertise, and to Mrs. Harris for her dedication to providing our students with unique, high-impact CTE learning experiences that prepare them for future success.
